Enjoy Local Music This Weekend
The streets of downtown Asheville are full of food vendors, local merchants, musicians, artists, and visitors, and the city is preparing for an exciting weekend of entertainment. Fox Run Preserve, however, a Hendersonville gated community, is as peaceful as ever, and its location provides residents seeking a low key weekend with an alternative to Asheville's excitement.
While many Western North Carolina bands will be performing downtown, the music doesn't stop there. Visitors and residents alike can find events and activities just minutes from Fox Run Preserve. This weekend, Warren, Bodle, and Allen will play at Blue Ridge Community College for Music by the Lake. A popular folk-rock and bluegrass band hailing from central North Carolina, the musicians will sing concert attendees well into a warm summer night with a picturesque, mountainous setting as the backdrop.
The Folkmoot Festival, which will be happening by the UNCA this weekend and again in Hendersonville on July 28th will also be featuring plenty of music but with lighter crowds than Bele Chere. The focus will also be different. The festival will showcase sounds and cultures from around the world, offering attendees incredible insight into different countries and communities.
Of course, if something local is what you seek, Music on Main Street will continue this weekend. All visitors need are lawn chairs and an appreciation for local, Appalachian tunes. This weekend, while many are spending their days at Bele Chere, will also be a good opportunity to take advantage of the quieter setting away from downtown Asheville and explore the area's Blue Ridge Mountain real estate.
